Following steps, among others, are taken during the execution of the Laboratory Scan:
- Definition of topics of investigation.
- Study of records (results, deviations, validations etc) and documentation (quality manual, SOP’s, workload, financial reports etc.)
- Interviews with several employees (management, laboratory technicians, QA, IT, QP, internal customers.
- Laboratory assessment with focus on Quality Assurance, efficiency of workflow, information handling and human factors (workload, qualifications, motivation, education, ambition, safety-health-welfare)
- Reporting and presentation of findings, discussion on topics of investigation, potential bottlenecks, conclusions and recommendations.
